Elderly NJ Man Pruning Trees Falls, Dies
HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. — Police in central New Jersey say an 80-year-old man has died after an apparent fall into the Raritan River.
Raymond Goodrich's body was found in the river Sunday evening after Hillsborough police and rescue squads responded to a report of an unresponsive elderly male.
Police tell Gannett New Jersey that Goodrich was trimming some trees on his property when he fell down a steep embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the incident is under investigation but does not appear to be suspicious.
