Two members of the Spotswood EMS were en route to an accident scene in East Brunswick and were hit by a 2013 Toyota Prius on Ryder Lane at Cranbury Road, around 8 a.m. Saturday morning and overturned. Passenger Hinel Patel, 22, of Piscataway was killed in the crash while driver Mark Seube, 24, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The overturned vehicle slid into a 2011 Subaru Legacy that was stopped on Ryders Lane. The driver of the Legacy, Kristen Fahrman of East Brunswick, was also hospitalized.

The driver of the Prius, Kathleen Meade, 58, of East Brunswick, was also hospitalized and is expected to be okay. Police say the ambulance had its siren and lights on as it entered the intersection.
