MORRIS TOWNSHIP — The U.S. Geological Survey reported an earthquake in Morris County on Monday night.

The 1.7 magnitude quake was reportedly centered around two miles south southwest from Morristown at 6:35 p.m..

There was no word as of 9 p.m. about any damage or power outages as a result of the quake.
