Ear Wax Differs By Ethnicity
This story is kind of gross and kind of intriguing at the same time. Researchers have determined that the nature on an individual’s ear wax, just like body odor, varies among ethnicities.
Apparently, most Americans have the moist, yellow type of earwax, while Asians tend to have a drier, whitish earwax. Scientists believe that earwax may contain identifying information, with one site going as far as saying the researchers could determine sexual orientation. One thing the researchers are really hoping for is finding indications of health status and/or diseases in the wax.
