Ever been this noble? A girlfriend or a buddy gets pulled over for speeding at night or gets into an accident and you tell them to switch places with you so that you fall on the sword and take the ticket and the points? Well it didn't work out so well in Fair Lawn last week.

Police say an inebriated driver, 23 year old Franklyn Bardecker crashed his car on 208 in a single car accident. The car wasn't found right at the crash scene though, and when the cops caught up with the car they found 35 year old Lazaro Perez behind the wheel and his buddy Frank in the passenger seat. They apparently broke down during roadside questioning and admitted they switched places. The problem was, Lazaro was drunk too.

According to NJ.com,

The two Edison residents each failed roadside sobriety tests, and were charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. Bardecker was also charged with reckless driving.

Don't you read a story like this then wonder if they're still friends?
