GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — A drunken driver fled a two-car crash, leaving trapped in his car a 13-year-old child, police said.

According to police, 21-year-old Joseph Raymond was speeding when he hit another car late Sunday afternoon. Police dog "Rocky" tracked him after he ran from the scene on foot, and officers found him about 300 feet from the collision, laying down in the woods, police said.

He faces several charges: driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, unlicensed driver, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, failure to report an accident, endangering the welfare of a child, DWI by guardian with minor in the vehicle, assault by auto

Raymond and the other driver were both treated for injuries, police said. The 13-year-old was flown to a hospital, but police didn't release more details about the teen's injuries.

According to a report by the Press of Atlantic City, one involved in the crash car had a broken windshield and airbags deployed. The other vehicle had damage to the back, it said.
