TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie has announced executive pardons for four people.
Among the four pardoned Friday was Nathan Clark, a Louisville, Kentucky, resident who was arrested last year while driving through New Jersey with a legally registered firearm but was arrested for unlawful possession.
The 39-year-old successfully completed a pretrial intervention program.
This is Christie's ninth gun-related pardon.
Carlos Martinez committed crimes in the 1980s to support his drug and alcohol addiction. He is a former Navy seaman and currently a licensed psychotherapist.
Dwayne Powell, of Panama City, Florida, committed several nonviolent crimes in the 1990s before joining the Navy. He is seeking a career in law enforcement.
Retired ironworker Michael Mears struggled with addiction issues since his teens but returned to school and attended college. He attends 12-step meetings as a speaker, organizer and sponsor.
