The man is a citizen of the Czech Republic. Authorities say he'll remain in custody pending a deportation hearing but don't say if he's facing charges stemming from Friday's incident at the Picatinny Arsenal.

The arsenal was evacuated for several hours after security personnel noticed something suspicious within the vehicle. Authorities treated the situation as an explosive threat but haven't said what raised suspicions.

Thousands of employees were instructed to leave. No explosives were found.

The arsenal is 35 miles west of New York City. It specializes in research, development, acquisition and management of advanced conventional weapons systems and advanced ammunition for the military.
