FORT LEE — A mother and daughter sustained what police described as "non-life threatening injuries" when they were hit crossing a city street on Monday, according to police.

NJ.com reported that 71-year-old Eui H. Shon was driving on Main Street Monday afternoon when he turned onto Center Avenue, hitting the woman and her 5-year-old daughter.

"Shon continued onto Center Avenue, where he stopped briefly," Capt. Patrick Kissane was quoted as saying. "He exited his vehicle and then reentered it and fled from the area."

According to the Fort Lee police, Shon was found with help from the Palisades Park Police, but not before he had his damaged car repaired at a body shop.
