Driver Killed, Passenger Hurt In I-80 Crash

State Police say a woman was killed and her passenger was injured when their sport utility vehicle crashed into a sound barrier and broke into pieces on Interstate 80.The crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. Sunday in a westbound lane in Parsippany.

The driver, 30-year-old Jennifer Wyatt of West Milford, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 36-year-old passenger, David Olsen of Lake Hopatcong, was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, but further details were not disclosed.

It was not clear what caused the crash, and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The crash forced authorities to close a stretch of the westbound highway for several hours.
