Driver Injured When NJ Transit Train, Car Collide in Camden
One person was injured when a New Jersey Transit RiverLine train collided with a car in southern New Jersey.
The accident occurred around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday in Camden, in the area of Haddon Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
NJ Transit officials say the northbound light rail train had no passengers. It was returning to a storage yard when the collision occurred.
The driver of the car, who was alone in the vehicle, suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. But further details were not disclosed.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. It caused a brief service suspension between the Walter Rand Transportation Center and 36th Street.
