The accident occurred around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday in Camden, in the area of Haddon Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

NJ Transit officials say the northbound light rail train had no passengers. It was returning to a storage yard when the collision occurred.

The driver of the car, who was alone in the vehicle, suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. But further details were not disclosed.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. It caused a brief service suspension between the Walter Rand Transportation Center and 36th Street.
