FRANKLIN — One day after police reported a car had crashed into the Franklin Township Senior Center, a resident of the Somerset part of town is facing charges for being the driver involved in the incident.

According to police, the car crashed into the building sometime early Saturday morning before driving away. At the time police said the car was described as a maroon Chevy Impala built between 2000 and 2005, and was believed to have “heavy front-end damage.”

On Sunday afternoon police announced the arrest of 40-year-old Joseph Driggers Jr. Driggers has been charged with reckless driving, careless driving, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage, and failing to report a motor vehicle accident with property damage.

Driggers was released pending a future court date.
