MEDFORD — A driver died Friday evening after a head-on crash between two vehicles on State Highway 70.

Township police and rescue crews responded 5:53 p.m. to the area of 105 State Highway 70 for a report of the crash, police said.

The drivers of the car and the SUV were both trapped in their vehicles. One was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was flown to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden.

Children in both vehicles also were taken to Cooper for treatment of injuries. They were listed in critical but stable condition, police said.

Township police on Saturday did not release the names and ages of the victims or more details about the crash citing the ongoing investigation.
