Authorities say an alleged drunken driver faces vehicular homicide charges in a northern New Jersey crash that killed two young men and injured two others.

Essex County prosecutors announced the charges against 20-year-old Harrison Allen on Wednesday afternoon, hours after the crash occurred in Maplewood.

Police say Allen, who has residences in Montclair and Livingston, was speeding when he went through a stop sign around 9 p.m. Tuesday and smashed into another car.

Two Maplewood residents in the second vehicle, 16-year-old Tamir Harry and 21-year-old Kervin Noel, were ejected from the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others in that car, Harry's 20-year-old brother, Tahsir, and 21-year-old Rodney Lovius, are hospitalized in serious condition.

Allen suffered undisclosed injuries. It's not known if he has a lawyer.
