Cumberland County prosecutors say the motorist, 23-year-old Timothy Seidel II of Commercial Township, was critically injured in Sunday morning's crash in Millville. Ironically, city officials say Seidel had recently applied to join the Millville police force.

Officer Christopher Reeves, an 8-year veteran of the force, was killed in the crash.

The other Millville officer in the cruiser, Johnathan Seidel, was seriously injured and remained hospitalized Monday afternoon. Prosecutors say he is not related to the accused motorist.

Besides the aggravated manslaughter charges, Timothy Seidel also faces counts of vehicular homicide, eluding and aggravated assault.
