LINDEN - A DPW worker has been charged with being drunk on the job after he drove his city truck into another municipal vehicle.

Linden Police said Eduardo Torres, 60, was behind the wheel of a city Chevrolet pickup truck on Monday afternoon when he drove into a parked Ford Crown Victoria in the parking lot of the public works complex.

Torres, a Linden resident, tried unsuccessfully to fix the damage himself, before giving up and just moving the vehicles from the scene of the incident, police said.

A public works supervisor discovered the damaged vehicles and called police.

Torres has been charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to report an accident to police and leaving the scene of an accident.
