Amtrak Downed Wires Repaired in Maryland
Downed wires in Maryland have been repaired and full Amtrak service has been restored.
Travelers between Philadelphia and Washington on Amtrak's Northeast Regional and Acela Express were subject to "significant delay" as falled overhead wires in Perryville, Maryland were repaired..
Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham tells WBAL-TV that diesel locomotives had been pressed into service to get trains to the Perryville station where commuters can take a Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) train to Washington.
Amtrak in an email press release says that residual delays can be expected.
