Dover man charged after passenger died in Sunday morning crash

DOVER — The driver of a vehicle involved in a single car crash is facing charges after one of his four passengers died.

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp said Dover resident Javier Santos Archaga, 36, was charged after the crash in the area of Routes 15 and 46 early Sunday morning. In addition to the passenger who died Knapp said the three other passengers "sustained varying degrees of injury."

Archaga was charged with one count of second-degree death by auto, one count of third-degree assault by auto, and two counts of fourth-degree assault by auto. Knapp said Archaga was taken to the the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a first court appearance on Monday.
