Two police departments will be facing off in a BBQ cook-off extravaganza! The big barbecue throwdown will be taking place at Mrs G at 2720 U.S. 1 Business, Lawrence Township at 11 a.m. Sept. 24. Representatives of the Lawrence and Trenton police departments face off in a cookoff — each creating their best pulled pork.

I'll be joined at the judging table by my Chasing News colleague and fellow lover of BBQ, Jessica Nutt and writer and regular NJ101.5 fill-in for Dennis & Judi, Jeff Edelstien.  We'll be eating and judging...yes there will be a winner.  Debbie from Mrs G's has also set up a donation page.

The winning police team’s civic organization will take 60 percent of the prize, and the loser’s will get the remaining 40 percent.

The Lawrence Police Department, with griller Tom Everist, has chosen Lawrence Township FOP Lodge 209. The Trenton department, with griller Michael Kruchinski, has chosen the Trenton PBA No. 11 Civic Association. You can donate here.
