Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth Chapman join NJ’s bail reform battle
Had a great conversation today on the air with Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife Beth Chapman.
The couple came to NJ from Hawaii in order to speak to the New Jersey legislature about reforming the bail reform. The current bail reform is based on a misguided notion that too many people are languishing behind bars simply because they don't have the means to afford bail. Of course in a classic case of the cure is worse than the disease, according to many in law enforcement and the reality show stars, the current system has allowed people who are a clear threat to public safety out of jail sometimes within hours of being arrested. After the broadcast we took to the white board to explain the problem.
