A new study by Nationwide Insurance and reported by KYW.com found that 25% of people surveyed have given a car a nickname. Women were more likely than men to attach a nickname to their car.

I have never nicknamed a car and, quite frankly, I don't understand why anyone would. The car already comes with a name: the model. Is there an advantage to saying "I'm taking the Chick Magnet to the store" rather than "I'm taking the Pacifica to the store"? I don't think so, and its nice to know I'm in the majority of people who don't name their cars. How about you? Have you ever given a car a nickname?

Take our poll and tell us what the nickname was in the comment section below.
