FLEMINGTON — An animal shelter in Hunterdon County is looking for the owner of a senior Labrador retriever found along a road.

The male, estimated to be 9 or 10 years old, was found Tuesday without a collar in a puddle along Lilac Road, near Schoolhouse Road, in Clinton. If its owner is not found within the next seven days, the dog will be put up for adoption.

Animal Control Solutions animal control officer Sarah Conklin told NJ.com that the dog cannot receive any treatments without permission from its owner. The dog was weak and had trouble lifting itself out of the puddle after collapsing, the report quoted her saying.

ACS asked anyone who knows the owner of the dog to call them at 908-310-1452.
