When you hear about the tragic shootings in Orlando both Friday night when Christina Grimmie was gunned down signing autographs, then Saturday night when a lone gunman opened fire in a gay nightclub, you wonder how safe you are anywhere these days.

But do you wonder how safe you are this summer as we step out into all the crowded activities that will be going on in New Jersey? We now live in a world where anytime, anywhere, someone can walk into wherever you are and start firing on innocent people. Do we need to have metal detectors at all major events? Do businesses need to incur the expense of stepping up their security? Will it be a point worth advertising if they do?

The truth is, in most instances, people really aren’t going to do anything differently. The only thing that you can do is keep an eye out and, of course, if you see something, say something.
