‘Did You Boogie’ by Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids — Doyle’s ‘Not-So-Top-10′ List
Flash Cadillac & The Continental Kids were a 50s style band from Colorado that might be best known for playing the prom band in American Graffiti. They started out in Boulder, Colorado, and supposedly got their name from a guy in a bar who liked making up band names. While the band is still together to this day (although they just go by Flash Cadillac now), they never really made much of a dent on the pop charts, placing only one song in the Top 30. That song, 'Did You Boogie (With Your Baby),' hit #29 in 1976, and is the song I requested from Big Joe. Big Joe didn’t play it, and I’m convinced he snubbed me because the song features an even more famous DJ, Wolfman Jack, who has a couple of spoken interludes in the tune.
