A former Rutgers University student convicted of using a webcam to spy on his gay roommate has reported to a New Jersey sheriff on his way to jail.  Twenty-year-old Dharun Ravi arrived at the sheriff's department in New Brunswick, N.J., shortly after 12:30 p.m. for processing, before heading to jail to serve a 30-day term.

He was dressed in a T-shirt, khakis and sneakers. His father followed him into the sheriff's department.

Ravi's roommate, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide in September 2010, days after Ravi used a webcam to see him kissing another man. Ravi could have remained free while prosecutors appeal his sentence, but agreed Wednesday to serve his jail sentence now.
