Developer Plans $35 M Boutique Hotel in Montclair

MONTCLAIR (AP) — A developer has announced plans for a $35 million, 148-room boutique hotel in Montclair.

The Montclair-based Pinnacle Companies plans to build the eight-story building on Bloomfield Avenue in that Essex County community. Known as "The MC." the 120,000-square-foot property would be part of the Autograph Collection, Marriott International Inc.'s portfolio of independent hotels.

Groundbreaking would take place later this year, with the hotel scheduled to open in early 2016.

Besides the hotel rooms, The MC will also include 13,000-square-feet of corporate offices, conference and meeting space. Its amenities will include a farm-to-table restaurant, a rooftop bar with views of Manhattan and lobby library.
