The fall colors are at their peak or near peak from now until the end of this month. Experts say this year's colors won't be at their best due to repeated summer heat waves and a late summer drought.

So your best bet is around water, near lakes and streams, and near river beds or bays. If you didn't get out there this weekend, you still have a week or so left to see nature's spectacular show. New Jersey has a wide range of beautiful landscaped from which to see this amazing transformation before it all turns grey.

The two trees pictured were show during the exact same week. Notice last year's color was a lot more vibrant. Also notice that I couldn't be out on the lake without throwing a line in to catch a fish. The largemouth bass are still biting! But that won't last long either. Let me know where you think is the best spot in New Jersey for ultimate fall color.
