SOUTHAMPTON — The body that searchers pulled from the woods in this Burlington County township a week ago belonged to a 61-year-old woman who went missing from her Lumberton home more than three years ago, officials said.

The search team was in the woods off Route 70 at Hog Farm Road and called in State Police when the badly decomposed body was found.

The searchers had been searching for another missing person — David Cohen, 43, who was reported missing by family on April 22, 2015, and who was last seen in this township at Red Lion Motel on Route 206.

"The body found today was not our intended target, but was able to find closure for another family," the search group said.

Cocuzza disappeared Jan. 18, 2013, from her residence at the Lumberton Independent Living Campus on Route 38 in neighboring Lumberton. Authorities at the time said she suffered from depression and may have intended to harm herself. She did not own a car.

Authorities were not available to comment Saturday.
