Mercer County prosecutors say an autopsy determined the man died from a gunshot wound. His name and other information about him have not been disclosed.

City firefighters found the badly burned body Saturday night when they responded to the blaze on Hart Avenue.

After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters moved closer to the car to check for hot spots and any remaining fire. They then found the body in the passenger area.

A motive for the shooting and the cause of the fire remain under investigation.
