Dead Whale Vandalized in Atlantic City
A small dead whale that washed ashore in Atlantic City was vandalized with graffiti.
NBC 40 reports that the whale was marked with purple letters on its underside when it was found Thursday morning.
The Press of Atlantic City reports that the whale was discovered Thursday morning below Central Pier. The whale was roughly 10 to 12 feet long.
Excavators and chains dragged the carcass from the surf to a site near Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Bob Schoelkopf, Director of the Marine Mammoth Stranding Center tell NBC 40 the discovery of a dead small dolphin about 7 blocks away is a coincidence and do nott believe it is related to last summer's dolphin deaths. in which over 150 dolphinw washed ashore.
The whale's cause of death wasn't immediately clear.
