Back in 1974, ABC debuted “Toma.” It was a show about a real life Newark Detective named David Toma who used disguises to catch bad guys.

The New York Daily News once called Toma “The greatest cop alive”. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled after only one season despite good ratings. The star of the show, Tony Musante, said he only wanted to do one season. The following year, the show was retooled and renamed Baretta.

The real life Toma became one of America's most sought after speakers, lecturing students all over the country about the dangers of drugs. His daughter Patti, called in after hearing me talk about her father last night. She gave an update on her 81-year-old father who's still crusading against drugs.
