Dad Charged for Driving Drunk With Kid

A Barnegat man is being held on $50,000 bail after driving while intoxicated with his 8-year-old son in the car, police said.

Investigation of a Thursday night motor vehicle accident revealed that the car driven by Craig Cardoso, 31, left the roadway and struck two vehicles in Manahawkin. Cardoso and his son were taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries.

Further investigation led to Cardoso being charged with driving while intoxicated, and endangering the welfare of a child.
