Cyclist dies after falling off cliff in North Jersey park
CEDAR GROVE — A man died Monday morning after falling 20 feet off a cliff at Mills Reservation County Park.
A spokeswoman for the Essex County Sheriff's Department said a 49-year-old man from Wayne fell off his mountain bike as he rode with his brother in the park's Nose Reservation on Old Quarry Road. The fall appears to be accidental, according to the spokeswoman.
The man was unresponsive as crews attempted to get him off the cliff. He later died, officials said.
The man's name has not been released to the public.
The 157-acre park is in both Cedar Grove and Montclair along the Cedar Grove Reservoir near Montclair State University.
