OLD BRIDGE — A portion of Route 18 was closed to start the Monday morning commute.

The overnight crash closed the road northbound between Ferry Road and Maple Street. Old Bridge Police would not disclose details about the crash.

Photos submitted to NJ 101.5 show vehicles damaged in the front yard of a house including one that was overturned. Another damaged car was on the median.

NJ Transit said in a tweet its buses that pass through the area could be delayed or detoured.

Drivers can get on Route 9 northbound and then go west on Old Bridge-Matawan Road (Route 527) to get back to Route 18.

All lanes remained closed as of 7:30 a.m.
