Crane Accident Kills Worker in Secaucus
A construction accident in northern New Jersey has killed a worker.
The accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Friday off Meadowlands Parkway in Secaucus.
Police say Arris Tunc of Clifton was working at a site where an apartment complex is being built near the Crowne Plaza hotel.
Tunc was 45 feet up in the basket of a boom lift when the four-wheeled base tipped over and threw him off. He landed in the roadway.
The 34-year-old was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Meadowlands Parkway remained closed for most of the afternoon and was expected to reopen by about 5 p.m.
