Couple Escape Small Plane Crash in Bedminster
A pilot and his wife apparently escaped injury when their single-engine biplane flipped over during a landing at a northern New Jersey airport.
Bedminster police tell NJ.com that the pilot, 56-year-old Vijay Singh, and his 53-year-old wife, Meera, walked away from the crash, which occurred around 1 p.m. Tuesday at Somerset Airport. But the couple was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Authorities say the Singhs were coming in for a landing on the grass runway at the airport in Bedminster, but a braking problem apparently caused the plane to flip.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the accident.
