The September issue of Popular Mechanics has a funny and scathing indictment of Jersey's silly ban on self-serve gas. We read it on air and took people's opinions Thursday both in favor of the ban and mostly opposed to the ban.

Who else called in? The executive director of the NJ Gasoline Convenience Automotive Association, Sal Risalvato. He's all in on lifting the ban on self-serve gasoline. In fact he's been lobbying at the state house with an interesting proposal. With the pain of a gas tax hike on the horizon, what if we minimized that pain by lifting the ban on self-serve? Sal says it would drop the price by 8 cents per gallon or more thus mitigate the tax hike.

Check out this video of his call-in and hear his thoughts on the matter.
