WOODBURY — A Woodbury police officer sustained injuries when a man jumped off a roof after a burglary Thursday, according to authorities.

David Brown Jr., 34, of Turnersville, was arrested and faces several charges in connection with the incident, NJ Advance Media reported. According to the article, police responded to Fat Louie's sandwich shop on Red Bank Avenue after receiving reports that there was a man on the roof.

Officers learned that the man had entered the building then went back to the roof, NJ Advance Media reported. As he tried to jump off the roof, he hit a light, sending shards of glass into the eye of a police officer, the story states.

Brown was arrested and charged with assault on police, criminal mischief, theft, trespassing and resisting arrest by flight and resisting arrest, the article states. He is being held in Salem County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Woodbury Police did not immediately return calls for comment on the incident or the condition of the injured officer.
