Construction to Cause Delays on Route 22
Motorists can expect delays and heavy traffic when work begins on the Easton-Phillipsburg Toll Bridge starting Monday.
Route 22 commuters are encouraged to use Interstate 78 as an alternative.
The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has modified its lane closure plan for the first few weeks to prevent a potential conflict with a paving project west of Route 22.
There will be a single lane pattern for eastbound traffic from slightly west of Cemetery Curve in Easton, Pa., onto the toll bridge.
Westbound traffic on Route 22 will use a single lane from the toll bridge to Fourth Street between 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays. Two westbound lanes will be open on weekends until July 8.
