Malloy said the state sent a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter and crew to New Jersey Wednesday afternoon. He said the helicopter has lifting capability and can help remove large debris.

Superstorm Sandy ravaged New Jersey's shore, destroying boardwalks and beachfront homes, flooding streets and damaging utilities. Connecticut has similar damage, but on a smaller scale.

Malloy says the state has four other Black Hawks and can recall the one sent to New Jersey if needed.
