No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred near Great Sound in Cape May County.

Officials say the stranded jet skiers called 911 around 11 a.m. Wednesday. Local authorities later contacted Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, in Philadelphia, and a helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City soon responded and hoisted the four people to safety.

A boat crew from Coast Guard Station-Small Townsend Inlet, who were aboard a 24-foot special purpose craft-shallow water vessel, also assisted in the matter.

It wasn't known what caused the jet skiers to become stranded. Their names were not released.
