An armed Clifton cop who barricaded himself for nearly 10 hours in Doylestown, Pennsylvania faces 80 charges of  assault and attempted homicide.

42-year-old Richard Klementovich was taken into custsody around midnight after police were called to the Bucks County home of his estranged wife around 3PM on Sunday afternoon and he began to shoot at police. No motive was revealed for the ordeal.

He is being held on $1million bail in the Bucks County Correctional Facility in Doylestown

Police say Klementovich called them. Acting Doylestown Police Chief Dean Logan says an envelope was found in the driveway addressed to police that said Klementovich was an officer and had 2,000 rounds of ammunition. Officers were soon under fire, and one suffered minor injuries.

 

 

Klementovich surrendered with help from Clifton Township police. In a statement, the Clifton department said that he began work there on  January 5, 1998. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Army (Airborne Divison) and is a veteran of the Gulf War. Officer Klementovich, a father of two, was assigned to the Patrol Division for nearly 15 years and was a decorated officer who received numerous commendations throughout his tenure with this agency.
