Army Spc. Jeremias Ortiz was buried Wednesday with full military honors at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton. It was attended by about 100 mourners.

Police say the 26-year-old was shot twice as he exchanged gunfire with the intruder in the apartment he shared with his wife near Fort Stewart in Hinesville, Ga., on June 1.

The Record newspaper reports 21-year-old Kyle Perry was wounded and is charged with murder, aggravated assault, burglary and other charges.
