‘Click It or Ticket’ Begins
New Jersey is one of 11 states participating in the annual Click It or Ticket campaign, starting Monday.
A special crackdown focuses specifically on border-to-border enforcement. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday night, officers will set up checkpoints and roving patrols near state border crossings, in order to enforce seat belt usage.
"Because we border three other states, New Jersey is a vital cog in this enforcement effort," said Division of Highway Traffic Safety acting director Gary Poedubicky. "Simply put, a seat belt can mean the difference between life, death, or serious injury."
