Christie is in the Jersey Shore town of Manahawkin. The 2-square-mile community of 2,300 people in Ocean County is the gateway to Long Beach Island, an area hit hard by Superstorm Sandy.

Wednesday’s town hall comes after the House approved a storm aid package for Northeast states on Tuesday night. The first-term governor had harsh words for Speaker John Boehner after a vote on the aid was delayed last month.

About 800 people are in a church gymnasium to hear the governor, while roughly 250 are in an overflow room.

Some of the governor’s town halls have produced exchanges with audience members that have landed on YouTube.
