Christie hopes to find an ally in Barack Obama when he meets with the President in the Garden State.

“One of the things I’m going to talk to the President about is getting the Army Corps Of Engineers in here as quickly as possible for us to begin the planning of the rebuilding of the beach and towns that lie tight next to these beaches so that’s one of the things that I’ll talk to the President about,” said Christie.

“I look forward to spending time with the President and talking to him about the re-building of New Jersey, the Jersey Shore in particular,” Christie added.

There’s also the question of the millions that are still without power. The Governor said, ”

Many of the areas Christie toured by helicopter on Tuesday were still too dangerous to use as a landing zone. Choppers did touch down in Belmar where the shore town’s famed boardwalk has been reduced to sand and splinters. Mayor Matt Doherty looks forward to working with the Christie and Obama Administrations to return Belmar to its glory sooner rather than later.
