The Republican governor's office announced Tuesday night that the pair will meet Thursday in Manhattan. But Christie's press office did not respond to a request for comment about what the men would discuss.

Rivlin is in New York for his first official visit as president.

He's also scheduled to meet with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on Wednesday and attend events at the United Nations in observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Christie met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New York last fall.
