Christie had been scheduled to attend Gov. John Kasich's swearing-in ceremony in Columbus, Ohio, as well as a dinner for Gov.-elect Bruce Rauner in Springfield, Illinois on Monday.

But NJGOP spokeswoman Nicole Sizemore says that due to weather, the governor will not be traveling to the events as previously planned.

Christie recently left his position as chair of the Republican Governors Association, which helped to elect GOP candidates.

The trips were part of a seven-stop victory tour as he mulls a run for president in 2016.

He traveled to Florida and Massachusetts last week and is scheduled to travel to the early-voting states of South Carolina and Iowa later this week.
