Christie References Bridgegate at School Event [VIDEO/AUDIO]

The criminal investigation into Bridgegate is accelerating and Gov. Chris Christie hasn’t mentioned it all week, but he did make a reference to it during a visit to a Camden school on Thursday.

Christie was at the school to announce a hot supper pilot program. Meanwhile, federal prosecutors have issued subpoenas to the governor’s re-election campaign team, as well as the state Republican Party.

The governor declined to talk to reporters at Dudley Elementary School, but he did chat with a group of students.

When one youngster asked Christie how he controlled things, the governor replied, “How do I keep everything controlled? Not so well sometimes.”

After a chuckle, Christie continued his explanation.

“It depends on the day, man, it depends on the day,” Christie said. “You know what, here’s what you’ve got to learn about in life: You can try to control everything, but you can’t, and so sometimes things get out of control, and what matters is how you fix it when it gets out of control.”

The governor also gave students advice on how to handle rough times.

“I think I do a pretty good job of controlling things, but every once in a while it doesn’t work out, and you just gotta make sure you go and fix it when it doesn’t work out,” Christie said.
