While no official 2016 presidential announcement has been made, Gov. Chris Christie is making gains, according to the latest poll from Quinnipiac University.

In Iowa, Christie has closed five points in a hypothetical head-to-head match-up with Hillary Clinton, who still leads 44-36 percent.

Those figures may reflect a recent decline in her popularity.

The poll is not all great for Christie, though.

His chief competition in the GOP all fare better in the mock battle with Clinton.

That field includes Rand Paul, Paul Ryan and Mike Huckabee.
